Ubuntu is a non commercial GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian and launched in 2004.
As Ubuntu is based on Debian, it uses the same architecture and packet manager.

Security updates are not guaranteed for the versions that are no longer maintained.
If your server uses a non maintained version, it is vulnerable to certain attacks.
